230v 20 amp plug to 230v 30 amp plug, is it possible to covert? or dangerous?

I have a 230v 20 amp plug air-conditioner. plug won't fit into our 230v 30amp female. Is there an adapter for this? Or is it unwise, it seems like it would be fine to me.
